Charge D’Affaires Jorgan K. Andrews

Jorgan K. Andrews is a Senior Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State with 29 years of experience in diplomacy and national security.  Currently, he serves as the Charge D’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India.

Mr. Andrews previously served as a State Department Fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace.  As Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) from 2018 to 2021, he oversaw justice and security sector assistance programs in Europe and Asia.

From 2016 to 2018, Mr. Andrews was the Director of the Office of Eastern European Affairs in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs.  Previously, he led two of INL’s three largest programs in Colombia (2013-2016) and Mexico (2010-2013).

Mr. Andrews has also served in the South and Central Asia Directorate of the National Security Council, in addition to overseas assignments in Kazakhstan, Guatemala, and Russia.  Mr. Andrews holds a law degree and a master’s degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in national security strategy from the National War College, and a bachelor’s degree in Russian language and international affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  A former attorney from Colorado, he speaks Russian, Spanish, and some Ukrainian.
